  • LoL stuff...

    Thursday, Oct 4, 2007 7:14AM / Standard Entry

Yesterday i stopped by my local supermarket to do some grocery shopping. wat i saw made me laughed out loud. it's a 'siamese' white eggplant... kinda resemble a plump rump... never really had white eggplant before so i bought some.

(i prepared it with shredded pork, curry style... big mistake on leaving the skin on... it was kinda chewy but the meaty part of the eggplant is still in tact, full of flavor, unlike the purple kind, where it can get soggy after cooking for a while...)

after spending a good 1/2 hour or so, i was on my way home. as i stopped in front of my apartment building, there was a flyer taped to the door of the lobby and again.. it made me laughed out loud...

what other funny things can happen when i get home... take a look at this...

hahahaa... dont worry... it's only cranberry juice.

  • Incredible Weekend...

    Tuesday, Oct 2, 2007 3:36AM / Standard Entry

    Friday nite....

As many of u know, mr. daniel wu, himself is in ny. and me and yulien got a chance to see him at the chivas regal private party held at bryant park library this past friday. at first i didnt even know which library it's gonna be held at but after some researching (and rude encounter with the barmaid who's w/ the chivas regal event that i wont want to go into details), i was so excited to be able to see him live in person. i went straight after work to the library to meet up w/ yulien. the red carpet wasn't even laid down until around 6:30pm and the cold drizzling rain didn't help either. hahaa.... me and yulien looked for shelter under the library but were kicked out a few times by the event ppl... oh well, but that's just a little price to pay to see daniel...hehee... crazy thoughts raced in my head... what if he decided not to show up at the last minute? what if he used a different entrance? what if....? arrrgh... luckily, the limos and tainted suvs slowly arrived, i felt so excited. is it him? is it him? he finally showed up in a stretch limo with his gal, lisa... i took a pic of them when they were going up the steps... haha... i guess i blinded him with the flash... he had his eyes closed.. ;0( and lisa looks stunning... a little heavy on the makeup, tho.. couldn't even recognize her... yulien is sooo good... she has a home made gift just for his bday... but since we couldn't get close to him at that moment, she left it with some pr girl who promised to give it to him. finally we just walked up to the steps where daniel stopped for photo ops. and we saw lucy liu too (musta came in from the side entrance)... we were only a few steps away from them...hehee... didn't scream out his name like a lunatic since it's so much business-like event... anyway... i waited until all the guests went downstairs of the library for dinner. if i didn't have anything to take care of that day, believe me, i would have waited till midnight with yulien to meet him one final time for that day... poor girl, she musta shivering in the night just to follow up on the bday gift and meet him. read up on her site for more...

hopefully, i can post up some pics and video of that day when i get home...

    On Sunday,

I have to follow up with yulien on what happened that nite. we had dim sum at oriental restaurant and just chatted away... we had a great time... if anyone who's in ny and would like to join us next time for lunch, dinner, coffee, or bubble tea, feel free to drop me or yulien a line...

    <><

here's some pic.... most of wat i have are too blurry or shaky... heeehee... jolted w/ excitement

this is when they came out the limo... hmm... lisa doesnt seem too happy.

    we were literally steps away...

    (last pic stolen from yulien...hehehee..)

still have a video of it... somehow cant seem to upload it. ;0(

hope this works... just a glimpse of him... u could actually hear yulien giggling in the end of it..hehee...

  • 1st time...

    Friday, Sep 21, 2007 1:25AM / Standard Entry

A lot has happened since I last blogged. Last Friday was the 1st time I served as a juror. It was a criminal case that took a couple of days to finish. Guilty on one count of sale of controlled substance. And Not Guilty on the charge of tampering with evidence. The 12 of us, hands down, reached the verdict of not guilty on tampering with evidence right away… it was clearly the cops who messed up on this one. The defendant was arrested and stripped searched at the precint’s bathroom and was told to bend over when nothing was visible on him. There were 2 cops involved. One who stood next to the defendant and the other one stood behind the defendant to look into his anal cavities. Upon seeing 2 bags of crack stuck up in the butt, the searching cop told the other cop what he saw. Then somehow, the defendant used one of his finger and pushed the supposedly 2 bags of crack up his butt. And that’s how the evidence was “lost”. The following procedure would be that the defendant would be taken down to a hospital and given a laxative to get the evidence out. When asked by the defense attorney why the defendant was not sent to the hospital to retrieve the evidence… the searching cop’s answer gave us all a shake of the head… his answer was, because he didn’t want to go through the fecal matter…  Tsk Tsk… Yes, I believed the defendant did pushed the cracks up his butt and he could’ve been put away for even more years… but b/c the sloppiness of these cops… if only they had sent him to the hospital, the “so called” evidence would be available, plus the witnesses of the doctors would make a stronger case… tsk tsk…

On another note… the following Monday, my friend gave birth to her 1st baby. A bunch of us visited them the next day and oh baby adam was sooo cute. Only two days old and he could turn his head around from side to side… amazing. Plus, when he looks at you, he doesn’t give you a blank stare. His big eyes follows you around. But oh the pain that mothers had to go through. YIKES! Initially, my friend didn’t want the epideral and wanted to experience it naturally. She told us that while she was in the delivery room, when her contraction scale reached on 45 (it goes from 0-100, with 100 being the ultimate pain), she was screaming and crying… and finally had the epideral. the highest it went up the scale was 85. oh the pain.. she went through and it hadn’t reach 100 yet… I hear from mothers that the pain was unbearable and yet they keep having children… you gotta to give ‘em a big thumbs up for it… I don’t think I can go through that… yikes… right now, adoption is looking very bright… {:0)

  • Once upon a time....

    Saturday, Sep 1, 2007 3:06AM / Standard Entry

Last nite I met up with my childhood friend for dinner and bubble tea. It’s just so funny that we saw each other on facebook and decided to meet up. We’ve met in 3rd grade and my deepest impression of her was that she’s sweet ‘lil girl. We’ve drifted apart after junior high and lost contact. Although we went to the same college, I only saw her once or twice in the hallways throughout my 4 ½ yrs there.

When I saw her last nite, she still looked the same except she’s a blondie now; but her smile still lit up the whole room. We talked and chitchatted non-stop for 2 hours and yet still have plenty to say to each other. We spoke of things way back from our childhood, to our first crush, to our life now. Throughout our whole conversation, the common phrases that came up were, “YOU too?”, and “ME too!”. We were both so surprised that we’re so much alike. And I was amazed at god’s grace that she’s very eager to come to my fellowship and that she’s been wanting to go to church for so long but had no one to go with. I thought to myself, maybe this meetup was the beginning of god’s wonderful plan.

I was a little disappointed that time flew by us so quick. We decided to meet up again for my fellowship and to hang out over the weekend. I’m so blessed that god gave this opportunity to rekindle our friendship. Can’t wait for next week….

  • Last day of summer....

    Tuesday, Aug 28, 2007 3:04AM / Standard Entry

This past weekend, our agape fellowship went over to one of our brother, gerald's home in jersey, and spent the night there. spending the night over at gerald's place has been one of our anticipated traditions at nycac. we can expect great food and great fun in the pool. this year, we're grateful that it was a first time for many, which meant new additions to agape. we spent fri nite having dinner/ snacks and sitting around the dinner table and talking. around 11pm, we sat around the fireplace and gerald led the program. he only used 4 verses (1John 1:1-4) and who would have thought the discussion could be an hour long before we called it a nite. although most of us are dead tired, it was very insightful. those 4 little sentences teach us to proclaim the word. and how can one proclaim the word when one hasn't actually experience god first hand? ... the questions still lingers...

Saturday morning, gerald's wife, yim, made us breakfast that kept us coming back for more... scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, roasted garlic potatoes, with jugs of sunny d. after food coma kicked in, we wrestled with their kids for ps2 controllers. guess all that finger exercise kicked in, and we're got ready to jump into the pool. the water was a bit cold but the hot and humid weather was even more unbearable so we all jumped in. when we worked out all the food, more food to come; which meant more ppl were food-comatosed. but most of us were pretty much awake to partake in gerald's 2nd half of the program, 1John 1:5-10. the question of fellowship came up and according to gerald, u can have fellowship with even 1 person only if that person has experienced god. you can have 2 or more ppl, and yet if none of them actually experience god, then there's no actual fellowship present. i did asked around afterward of their views on fellowship. i've always thought it's 2 or more, but gerald's view shed a diff light on me... kinda like looking at the same portrait, yet diff feelings and diff descrīption; yet same objective.

    Can't wait for next year....

    The Word of Life
1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. 2The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. 3We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4We write this to make our[a] joy complete.
    Walking in the light
5This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[b] sin. 8If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
