Initial Reply.
Highly likely that you need to re-focus your training upon having some improved leg & hip flexibility exercises introduced to ensure that the strain is not primarily due to over contraction of the leg musculature. Demonstrated , briefly series of stances taken from basics of Martial Arts / Yoga influences, including 'Dragon' , 'Chicken Lunges'.
Secondly , at early stages of new training regime, the inclusion of low level stretches such as,
Single Leg Seated Front Bends. ( with sole foot braced into straight theigh, similar to Yoga Tree ) or adding Butterfly Stretch ( for adductors ) for a few months should relieve any leg tightness from the overall problems linked to the back.
Ensure that all progression is done well within participants Pain/Strain threashold with steady gradual natural recovery to not overwhelm the bodys natural healing ability.
