Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, U.S.A., breakbeat and electro house DJ and independent music producer Dave Awesomer stepped onto the scene during the mid 90’s.
In late 1997, Dave moved to his base of operations to Hong Kong where, alongside a blossoming corporate career, he introduced the exploding club scene to psychedelic trance keeping a dedicated fan base appeased with a head-space of twisted rhythms and driving basslines. His GOA MOTION monthly brought together the best electronic psychedelia available in Hong Kong, and would gain notice from future collaborative deck spinners DJ CHRISTIAN and THIERRY of Hong Kong's pioneering breakbeat elite. Their influence would serve to diversifunk and stylize Dave's rhythms into the in-your-face jiggy breakbeat vibe that he is now the most famous for. <>
Today, he plays a mind boggling repertoire of ever changing musical styles and can be just as easily found hypnotizing club goers with groove-intelligent funked up acid jazzy beats, as can he can be found slugging it out with the latest in nu-skool breaks. Acclaimed chill zones for Hong Kong hip-set such as AQUA SPIRIT, JUBILLEE BAR, and the uber contemporary LOTUS, have all sought Dave’s services in the past year. <>
