Are you caught somewhere between being a girl (or boy) and being all grown-up? You're not THAT old. But then again, you're not THAT young anymore. You feel too old to go to "all ages" clubbing; you feel too young to even contemplate the responsibilities of parenthood. Sometimes you're confused. Sometimes you're excited. Sometimes you're scared.
You realize that the new colleagues joining the company (the new grads) did the exact same things you did a few years back...Read more
For those of you who read my blog back in May, you'll have read about my dilemma concerning which photo to choose for this magazine that asked to feature me in their "Health and Wellness" section. Anyway, the issue finally came out.
Thanks to all who gave feedback on the photos! Here it is! :)
I was outdoors for the most part of this long weekend, and I've now got this sandal tan that has made my toes a darker shade than the rest of my foot!!! =( My toes look like they're dirty! Heehee...
I was reading Peachey's blog about being played by guys. It reminded me of a time when I dated this guy who had just broken up with his gf. I sensed he might've been on the rebound, but he kept telling me he wasn't. So I trusted him. Big mistake. I had to find out on my own that he had gotten back with her- WHILE still g...Read more
The SAMMI 鄭秀文 concert last night was awesome!!! The songs brought back so many memories, she was a great entertainer (so funny), and there were times when I almost cried as she shared personal stories of her dad getting a stroke and of how she decided to take time off from her career. I had a great time. I would post the videos up but when I got home and uploaded them, I realized that you can hear my voice singing along to the songs! Oops... How embarrassing (It was SOOOO loud at the concert- I couldn't even hear my own voice...Read more
Really excited about going to the SAMMI concert tmr night at the Air Canada Centre (going in the place of my mom, who suddenly had to fly to HK). Throughout high school, Sammi was like THE Cantopop singer of HK... And her existence (her songs' existence anyway) is one of the reasons why I can read (and write) Chinese!!!
I recall buying my first CD at 13. It was Sammi's "鄭秀文的快樂迷宮" album, with my fave song at that time, "Chotto 等等". I had attended Chinese S...Read more
Do you guys like burritos? Any Mexican food fans out there? In Toronto, there aren't many Mexican restaurants, and I usually get my quesadilla/ fajita fix at local restaurants... BUT I've finally found a place worth mentioning. BURRITO BOYZ...
A couple of friends and I went clubbing this weekend, and after clubbing, we were famished. My best friend suggested grabbing a burrito at Bu...Read more
Not sure if you guys have heard yet, but a teenage girl's feet got severed (cut off) on a "Tower of Power" ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville last Thursday.
On the "Tower of Power" ride, passengers are hoisted up to a high height, suspended momentarily, then pulled down, but on Thursday, something went wrong. A cable cord apparently snapped and wrapped around the girl's feet while she was on the ride, cutting her feet off at the ankles!!!
Die Hard 4 ('Live Free or Die Hard') is coming out soon!!! I know, each DH movie that comes out gets worse and worse, but I'm sure you all remember the first time you watched Die Hard 1. It was such an intense movie (for a kid, anyway!)!!! I think I was 8 or 9; my brother must've been 4 or something- I think if my parents knew the content of the movie beforehand, they wouldn't have let us watch it. But we watched it. I thought it was such a cool movie! I still remember the look on the bad guy's face as he fell off th...Read more
One of my patients today was forced by her kids to come see me. (I hate seeing those patients. It's like, they don't want to be there in the first place... How can ANYONE help them?!)
I could sense it the moment she sat down. "My ankle used to hurt but it doesn't hurt anymore," was the first thing she said. A look into her medical health history revealed much more than a hurting ankle. The funny thing was, she didn't even want to be there. Not only was she hesitant when answering questions (t...Read more
Typical day at work... Actually, worked 45 min overtime. Came home, went for a jog, had dinner... Typical. Then got upset. Don't want to give details, but I'm just so sick and tired of broken promises. I know I know, sometimes things don't go the way you plan or expect and you should just go with the flow. But it's been happening so often lately that I can't take it anymore. I'm usually quite optimistic but this time, I'm just so upset. I feel silent tears welling up inside of me. My heart is heavy. The blogs on AnD cheered ...Read more
