Thanks to all of you who've responded to my previous blog about divorce/ in-laws. Now I want to bring up something related to that (I couldn't stop crying today- had to call a good friend up to calm me down. You'll understand as you read on)...
Ever since I could read love stories and understand love (which to this point, I admit I do not fully understand it), I thought that cheating was the worst thing you can do to someone you love. Although it is still amongst the top of my "most hated things" list, I have realize...Read more
I had a patient this past week who was a little younger than I am. She said she felt stressed and anxious. She also had a thyroid condition. I listened to her talk about what was happening in her life recently. Turns out she lives with her husband and in-laws. Although the in-laws are kind-hearted and love her to death, there are still times when they are "over-controlling", particularly the mother-in-law. Towards the end of the counseling session (and after checking up on her thyroid condition, which can also predispose her to ...Read more
Thanks to all of you for your encouragement re: my previous blog. I will continue to try my best in all I do and I will (try to) take it easy...
Anyway, I was going through a box of old cards/ things and I found this:
For those who can't read it, it says, "SORRY! Let's play Mario Party!!! C'mon! LUV U ALWAYS!" This wa...Read more
Last night, I dreamt I was at a dinner banquet (the celebration is irrelevant so I'll leave that out.). Suddenly, I realized that I had forgotten to buy a bouquet of flowers for my parents which I was supposed to present to them at the end of the banquet as a token of appreciation for all they've done. I looked at my watch and it was 8:15pm (I remember thinking in my dream, "Good, stores close at 9pm. I still have time!"), so I left the table of yummy Chinese food and went outside in search for a bouquet. There was a conveni...Read more
I've been swamped lately so I haven't been spending much time online. Just going out with friends, enjoying the nice weather, and celebrating birthdays/ engagements... See below for some photos. =)
I also watched the Bourne Ultimatum on Saturday night. There's something about Bourne that makes my heart flutter everytime I watch him on the screen. His wits? His masculinity? Who knows... I mean, Matt Damon isn't the physically hottest guy around (although he does have a nice bod) but it's his character in the Bourne series t...Read more
As most of you know, I've only been a naturopathic doctor for a few years. Basically, I'm a medically-trained physician specializing in evidence-based natural medicines/ treatments. People usually come to me for an undiagnosed cause of illness, for a more holistic approach to health/ health promotion/ disease prevention, for alternative/ complementary support to treatments that have failed/ are associated to unwanted health risks.
I've seen and helped a few women in their 30s get pregnant. But in my private practice up till ye...Read more
I had a fun-filled long weekend... Dinner with friends, get-togethers, shopping, went on a "mini-trip" to Niagara Falls with family (ended up not crossing the border- just stayed on this side of NF), watched Blood Diamond on DVD (Wow, very intense... but better that I thought it would be. All of us should stop supporting conflict diamond sales/ activity!), went to dim sum this morning with relatives and just came back from dinner with relatives! (See below- pic of me with AnD cap before I left for my trip. Lotsa sunshine ...Read more
Last night, I went to dinner with a few friends at an Indian restaurant, then I was going to watch Bourne Ultimatum with another group of friends but when we got to the theatre, only the first 2 rows were left so I refunded my ticket (I watched Mission Impossible 2 sitting in the 2nd row and got sick afterwards). We ended up going for BBtea instead. Today, I'm hitting the mall with a friend, then having dinner with other friends, then my family's heading to Niagara Falls/ Buffalo for the remainder of the long we...Read more
OK, I had a totally long day today. I was swamped at work (I think patients wanted to squeeze in appointments before the long weekend), then after work I went straight to a friend's place (mini party-like gathering) and by the time I got home, it was already 11pm... One more day till the long weekend!
So anyway, on the subject of exes. I got an email from a friend inviting me to karaoke this weekend. And at the end of the email, he mentioned that Mr.AC100(my fiance)'s ex would be there. Did that bother me? No. We've seen each othe...Read more
Reading the last line of Janina's most recent blog ("You never know what will happen while you sleep" or something like that) sparked something in my memory. I also shared this at my health workshop for young adults a few weeks back...
During our 20s/ 30s, many of us think we're invincible. We may pull all-nighters (studying, partying, AnD-ing!!!) and still be able to function (with the help of caffeine) the next day. We (are tempted to) indulge in every kind of pleasure we see fit. We (believe we) are too young to get...Read more
