Kyoto was our second stop in Japan. There were no skyscrapers in this city; rather, there were many temples, shrines and educational institutions. We stayed at a ryokan (Japanese-style hotel) the first night. This was the outside...

Christmas morning, went to the check-in counter with our confirmation emails... and the check-in person told us there was
NO flight booking under our names!

Saturday found me enjoying my first ever
outdoor BBQ in the month of
December! The weather was amazing and so was the venue. It was at a friend's place- we booked out the entire 2nd floor for the BBQ. Very nice views:

Last Friday was MrAC's annual
Christmas ball. It was at the new
W Hotel right beside Elements in Kowloon. The hotel boasted very
modern and
chicdecor... Even the servers were very modern and chic (and good-looking!).
The food was pretty good. Typical
5-course meal. Here it is (I'm missing the soup pic

I met up with Wildorchid and her three sisters for dinner.
We met at
Pacific Place in
Admiralty and had dinner at a nice French restaurant,
La Fourchette. The restaurant had a
50% off all main meals plus a lucky draw to
win $1000HK at another fancy restaurant.
Hmmmm. Probably trying to draw more customers in the midst of the
financial crisis. We didn't mind.
