  • JCVD IS BACK

    Thursday, Nov 27, 2008 3:10PM / Members only

Haven't blog for couple of weeks because of work works and personal works the only highlight of last weekend was watching this film call JCVD which stand for Jean-Claude van Damme.

A lots of middle age action movie star is trying to make a come back these day some are pretty good and some aren't, but this one is just totally different I still remember “TIME COP” & crappy “STREET FIGHTER”, but after watching this film you will never look at him or other action star the same way again.

This film “JCVD” is similar to the film “Rocky Balboa”, is more of a emotional, drama film rather then non stop action and they either of the actor was try to act any younger then they really are in real life.  As far as the story line go this would be the most original Action film I've ever seen.

Here is the story outline “When the life of Jean-Claude Van Damme collides with the reality of a hold-up in Brussels, Belgium, suddenly the huge movie star turns into an ordinary guy, filled with fears, contradictions and hopes. How can he be up to the legend he has built? What can a film hero do when the gun pointed to his temple isn’t charged with blanks? JCVD finds himself at the turning point of his “hero” life.” (copied from Apple site)

It isn't really a true story, but it was very interesting to watch, a lot of fun camera move, and continues shots and unreal colour treatment, and a lot of french sense of

humor, one thing you should know,  most of this film is in french and the subtitle is kind of unreadable half of the time because of white type on over colour graded blow out treatment.

Denfinlaty check it out, have a look at the trailer (It starts of with a over the top action scene, but don't let the same 10 sec of the trailer fool you, I  was almost going to close the trailer but keep watching you will see)

  • NO YET RATED

These days advertisments is everywhere around us, banner, poster, billboard etc.  What is different between Hollywood and other place would be the contents, here most of the Ads a about a coming up movie or a TV show.  Every morning when I walk down from the metro station to work I would see at least 30 medium  to large size billboards all to do with the entertainment industry.
This is the view at the BBQ area from work overlook the parking lodge.  The building that you are looking at is a film archive building, every month I would see a huge poster of a up coming movie being put up, it kind of keep me in track of how long I have been in L.A.
  • Diesel Dirty Thirty XXX Party

This is got to be one of the funniest party invite I've seen, directed by Keith Schofield and animated by Big Animal.  They toke the original porn done by “SFW Porn”and turn it in to a G rated Party invite (Well... kind of).  Its quite amazing how they could think of so many scenarios to cover up what was really going on and I feel back for the guy who have to roto out all the male and female genitalia.

  • Getting to Getty Villa

    Tuesday, Sep 23, 2008 1:24PM / Members only

Couple of weeks ago, I've posted a blog about the Getty Centre Museum, last weekend we went to the first original Getty “Getty Villa” in Malibu which was first opened to the public in 1974 then closed for renovation in 1997, six months before they open up the Getty Centre in LA.

The architecture design was quite different from the LA Getty Centre, Getty Villa was designed to look like a
first-century Roman country house “Villa dei Papiri” and it exhibit Greek, Roman and Etruscan artifacts.

Once again thanks for the J. Paul Getty

Visit the site for more info about both of the museums http://www.getty.edu

  • Dance for me Matt! Dance!

    Sunday, Sep 21, 2008 2:12PM / Members only

I've just saw this clip recently of a guy call “Matt Harding” who was a game designer in LA, but around 10 years ago, he quite and travel around the world and while he was traveling filming himself, dancing like a crazy person in different countries and put it up online in 2005, it end up a big hits, and later on Stride gum sponsor him for the later 2 clips, so far he had been 39 countries.

Matt is my new idol, being able to do what he does would be a dream for many people, the other thing I saw out of it is the corporate sponsor “Stride gum” were willing to stay out of the clip and not turning it into a Ad, the Stride logo has only appear at the end of the clip, and had a link from Matt's website.

Those 3 clips were all amazing, with some of the most beautiful backdrop in the world with very earthly, multicultural sound track.  It has that humanity and spiritual feels to it, especially the
first two clip which used Sweet Lullaby by Deep Forest which also featured some of the most amazing footage from around the world, it used as a promo for SBS an Australia
    TV channel.

His site was well documented with travel map, video, so check it out if you like the clip

    Dancing 2008

His lecture about himself, his adventures and how he started it.  It is only 1 part of the 3
