  • Glenn Beck Part One

    Monday, Oct 11, 2010 8:49PM / Members only

Fox News broadcaster Glenn Beck is famous for launching verbal grenades, and he did so again in recent days, calling upon church members to flee congregations that promote social justice. His comments incited an immediate controversy, where far more heat than light has yet been evident. As expected, there is more to this story than meets the eye - or may reach the ear via the public conversation.

During his March 2, 2010 radio broadcast, Beck said this:

" I beg you, look for the words "social justice" or "economic justice" on your church Web site. If you find it, run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice, they are code words. Now, am I advising people to leave their church? Yes! If I'm going to Jeremiah's Wright's church? Yes! Leave your church. Social justice and economic justice. They are code words. If you have a priest that is pushing social justice, go find another parish. Go alert your bishop and tell them, "Excuse me are you down with this whole social justice thing?" I don't care what the church is. If it's my church, I'm alerting the church authorities: "Excuse me, what's this social justice thing?" And if they say, "Yeah, we're all in that social justice thing," I'm in the wrong place. "

Almost immediately, reaction statements emerged with furor, found in press releases and public statements made by figures like Sojourner's editor Jim Wallis and various social justice advocacy groups. Like Captain Renault in Casablanca, various media outlets rounded up the "usual suspects." The resultant public conversation has not been very substantial, but it has offered media magnetism.

Some of those outraged by Beck's statements immediately insisted that social justice is the very heart of the Gospel, while others insisted with equal force that Beck had offered a courageous call for Christians to flee liberal churches that had abandoned the Gospel.

As anyone familiar with incendiary public debates should have expected, the truth is a bit harder to determine, but issue is indeed worth whatever hard thinking a clarification of the issue requires.

Is Glenn Beck right? That is the question most in the media were asking, along with a good number of Christians who were aware of the debate. With just a few words, Beck, a convert to Mormonism, set the world of American religion into a frenzy of discourse.

At first glance, Beck's statements are hard to defend. How can justice, social or private, be anything other than a biblical mandate? A quick look at the Bible will reveal that justice is, above all, an attribute of God himself. God is perfectly just, and the Bible is filled with God's condemnation of injustice in any form. The prophets thundered God's denunciation of social injustice and the call for God's people to live justly, to uphold justice, and to refrain from any perversion of justice.

The one who pleases the Lord is he who will "keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice" (Gen. 18:19). Israel is told to "do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness you shall judge your neighbor" (Lev. 19:15). God "has established his throne for justice" (Psalm 9:7) and "loves righteousness and justice" (Psalm 33:5). Princes are to "rule in justice" (Is. 32:1) even as the Lord "will fill Zion with justice and righteousness" (Is. 33:5). In the face of injustice, the prophet Amos thundered: "But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream" (Amos 5:18). In a classic statement, Micah reminded Israel: "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" (Micah 6:8).

To assert that a call for social justice is reason for faithful Christians to flee their churches is nonsense, given the Bible's overwhelming affirmation that justice is one of God's own foremost concerns. There is more going on here, much more. Glenn Beck's statements lacked nuance, fair consideration, and context. It was reckless to use a national media platform to rail against social justice in such a manner, leaving Beck with little defense against a tidal wave of biblical mandates.

A closer look at his statements reveals a political context. He made a specific reference to Rev. Jeremiah Wright (Obama's Old Pastor) and to other priests or preachers who would use "social justice" and "economic justice" as "code words." Is there anything to this?

Of course there is. Regrettably, there is no shortage of preachers who have traded the Gospel for a platform of political and economic change, most often packaged as a call for social justice.

The immediate roots of this phenomenon go back to the mid-nineteenth century, when figures like Washington Gladden, a Columbus, Ohio pastor, promoted what they called a new "social gospel." Gladden was morally offended by the idea of a God who would offer his own Son as a substitutionary sacrifice for sinful humanity and, as one of the founders of liberal theology in America, offered the social gospel as an alternative message, complete with a political agenda. It was not social reform that made the social gospel liberal, it was, its theological message. As Gary Dorrien, the preeminent historian of liberal theology, asserts, the distinctive mark of the social gospel was "its theology of social salvation."

Even more famously, the social gospel would be identified with Walter Rauschenbusch, a liberal figure of the early twentieth century. Rauschenbusch made his arguments most classically in his books, Christianity and the Social Crisis (1907) and Theology for the Social Gospel (1917). In a 1904 essay, "The New Evangelism," Rauschenbusch called for a departure from "the old evangelism" which was all about salvation from sin through faith in Christ, and for the embrace of a "new evangelism" which was about salvation from social ills and injustice in order to realize, at least partially, the Kingdom of God on earth. He called for Christian missions to be redirected in order to "Christianize international politics." Both, as far as I can tell are the cream of the false doctrine crop.

The last century has seen many churches and denominations embrace the social gospel in some form, trading the Gospel of Christ for a liberal vision of social change, revolution, economic liberation, and, yes, even social justice. Does this mean that all forms of Social and Economic Justice is a vile lie from Hell? No. The message of the bible is clear. Anything that deters from the very clear message of Christ is false. Anything that takes away the light of heaven and the gift of Eternal Life promised us, is a lie from Lucifer.

The urgency for any faithful Christian is this - flee any church that for any reason or in any form has abandoned the Gospel of Christ for any other gospel. In some cases it might be hard to spot initially. That's where prayer and faith come in. Read your bible, Pray in your closet at night, or whenever. Ask God to show you and to give you the wisdom you need to stay firm in your walk, and to avoid the temptations and wiles of the demonic spirit of this world. Resist the Devil, and he shall flee from you.

As I read the statements of Glenn Beck, it seems that his primary concern is political. Speaking to a national audience, he warned of "code words" that betray a leftist political agenda of big government, liberal social action, economic redistribution, and the confiscation of wealth. In that context, his loyal audience almost surely understood his point. My concern is very different. As a Christian, my concern is the primacy of the Gospel of Christ - the Gospel that reveals the power of God in the salvation of sinners through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. (...I am THE way, THE Truth, and THE Life...)The church's main message must be that Gospel. The New Testament is stunningly silent on any plan for governmental or social action. The apostles launched no social reform movement. Instead, they preached the Gospel of Christ and planted Gospel churches. Our task is to follow Christ's command and the example set forth by the apostles.

There is more to that story, however. The church is not to adopt a social reform platform as its message, but the faithful church, wherever it is found, is itself a social reform movement precisely because it is populated by redeemed sinners who are called to faithfulness in following Christ. The Gospel is not a message of social salvation, but it does have social implications. Anyone who has become saved and filled with his Holy Spirit know what I am referring to. The Old Nature dies out, and a new one begins. The New Man, the new Nature. With only one goal: To save sinners from hell.

Faithful Christians can debate the proper and most effective means of organizing the political structure and the economic markets. Bringing all these things into submission to Christ is no easy task, and Gospel must not be tied to any political system, regime, or platform. Justice is our concern because it is God's concern, but it is no easy task to know how best to seek justice in this fallen world.

And that brings us to the fact that the Bible is absolutely clear that injustice will not exist forever. There is a perfect social order coming, but it is not of this world. The coming of the Kingdom of Christ in its fullness spells the end of injustice and every cause and consequence of human sin. We have much work to do in this world, but true justice will be achieved only by the consummation of God's purposes and the perfection of God's own judgment.

Until then, the church must preach the Gospel, and Christians must live out its implications. We must resist and reject every false gospel and tell sinners of salvation through Jesus Christ. And, knowing that God's judgment is coming, we must strive to be on the right side of justice. Even though we are still imperfect beings, we are forgiven when we stumble and fall. Repenting is a good thing. Something all can learn from doing that as often as possible. As long as you pray, have faith, read the Word, and keep looking up you will know that the ONE true God is in control even when it seems nothing but chaos rules. Much tragedy has occurred, and there is more to come. Remember that he loves us all and wants none to suffer.

Glenn Beck's statements about social justice demonstrate the limits of our public discourse. The issues raised by his comments and the resultant controversy are worthy of our most careful thinking and most earnest struggle. Yet, the media, including Mr. Beck, will have moved on to any number of other flash-points before the ink has dried on this kerfluffle. Seriously minded Christians cannot move on from this issue so quickly. Pray. Read. Believe. God knows. Above all else, HE is in control.

    Part Two: Coming Soon.

  • Calling ALL Christians! TIME IS RUNNING OUT -- Muslims, Christians, Terror, OH MY

    Tuesday, Nov 24, 2009 11:53PM / Members only

Before the dust settles from Israel's attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities, the Islamic Republic will send its ballistic missiles into the very heart of Tel Aviv. This was spelled out over the weekend by a deputy of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's representative in the Revolutionary Guards, Mojtaba Zolnour. It came hours before Iran launched what it described as "huge" war games intended to "promote military power of the armed forces against any attack," according to a Brigadier General Ahmad Mighani quoted in Iranian television. The verbal threats and military exercises comprise the latest saber rattling on the part of the Muslims in Tehran - a leadership that regularly denies the Holocaust even as it prepares to perpetuate another one against Israel.

Instead of forcefully confronting the genocidal government of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the United States and European Union have done nothing more effective than repeatedly threaten sanctions. Iran has made full use of the space afforded it by this appeasement approach to race ahead with its efforts to achieve nuclear capability. In the words of a Christian Zionist who served for many years as a tank commander in Israel's Armored Corps - the international community is nearly ready to allow a second Holocaust to take place. "Israel has become a thorn in the flesh of the world," he said. The sooner it is erased from the Middle East the happier mankind will be. So, we're left with some very obvious and simple questions. Unfortunately the answers are not so simple in their own right. What do you say to a man or woman with a bomb strapped to themselves as they attempt to blow up a cafe, or a building, or similar?

Just the very idea that certain types of Extremists are already keyed to the fact they're going to die and they don't care whatsoever is a very scary reality. And they relish in that fact. The question remains however, WHY? Why would anyone strap a bomb to themselves and attempt to murder as many people as he/she possibly could? The answer to that has several avenues with which one may approach. The obvious one is that in murdering many people and the individual person with the bomb have already made their choices to die in the sight of their God, Allah. To them, killing Americans, or anyone who doesn't believe as they do is the "Ultimate" goal, the ultimate Sacrifice, and the ultimate aftermath. Let me break down each of them so you might get a better understanding what America is facing.

Ultimate Goal: Kill or Conquer ALL who would not follow Shariah law, or will not bow to the will of Allah. This means Christians, Jews, and anyone of any other faith who doesn't consider Allah to be God. Killing them supposedly assures their place next to their God in the afterlife with whatever rewards their "bible", the Koran, says they will receive for becoming a Martyr of Allah. This is only a surface idea. There is much more depth to it than this. My explanation is simple for those out there who would read this do not necessarily know or understand what is actually at stake. Keep in mind these people are not afraid of death.

These evil people (Extremists) send in their women and children to murder innocent civilians of all faiths and nationalities using the idea of the "Ultimate Sacrifice." 95% of these Terrorists cannot be reasoned with. They can be Captured, tortured, (And HAVE) and used for whatever means needed to obtain information to prevent more attacks What kind of monster would allow their child to strap on a bomb in a middle or high school? What kind of man is it that demands his wife to do the same?

These men who do such things are not men at all. They're cowards of the lowest sort. While in their hearts they believe their own lies, I would venture a guess that they themselves have not the courage to attack innocent people for the reason of not wanting to die. Its easy enough for a fool like Osama Bin Laden to send terrorists to attack a building or two, to kill Americans, and anyone they deem as a threat, and even our children are not safe from these men who are so blinded by their own fanatical evil, that ANYONE who is not of them is an Infidel and MUST be killed.

Thus far, Muslim Extremists are quite reminiscent of Nazi Fascism, the SS, and the chambers of death used to murder so many Jews during WWII. Guess what though-- It's going to ONLY get worse. I care not for anyone who would tell me this is another Vietnam, or similar idea. It is not. While the Governments of the World fight Al-Qaeda and its Iranian backed leagues of hate, we fight them as we would fight a “normal” war, as if there WAS such a thing. To the Extremists, this war is a spiritual war. Or as they call it, A Jihad. I got news for them. “...Greater is HE that is ABOVE, then he that is IN the World...”

Extremists are SO blindly involved in the hate they enjoy labeling as faith, they cannot see the obvious. Meaning, it is so transparent, they think they look upon something other than what is right in front of them. If you know the story of the Donkey who's master tied carrots on a stick, and attached it to his saddle, made the Donkey more. Other wise, it would have stayed put.

That is what the Devil is doing now. Not just to the Muslim Extremists, but to anyone who gets distracted by the will of the World rather than the will of God. It is the largest scale of Smoke and Mirrors in the history of the World, and the US President is at the center of it. Still think he is a puppet? Think again. There are reasons he acts now as he does. Wait for it though. I just hope when the time comes, you the person reading this blog will know Jesus and his love, and his Promises. If not, anytime is as good as any. “...For God So Loved the World, that He Gave his ONLY Begotten Son, Jesus...” The point on this analogy is another means of control that would Dangle a carrot in their faces long enough, and their eyes cannot see anything else.

Can you imagine Osama Bin Laden strapping a chest bomb on and blows himself up inside of a busy mall? Sure you can imagine it all you wish to. But don't hold your breath. If the man dies of his old age, or oxygen deprivation, or whatever ailments the man has. If he would practice what he preaches, this war On Terror would have been over already. He has the courage to command men, women and children to die among "infidels" so they may collect the Ultimate aftermath, IE so many virgins, wealth, and be glorified in their version of Heaven.

If Osama did practice his own words, the martyrs would follow him 100 fold. So what prevents him from doing so? Simple enough, that the MAN (If you can call him that.) doesn't wish to die. Sure he'll wield a gun in a fight, lob grenades and mortars at his enemies, and die in battle, but he is unwilling to do himself what he commands of others. Does that seem familiar to anyone other than me? Of course it does. So now I ask you. What is the difference between Christians and Muslim Extremists? Other than the obvious flags of violence? (There is a percentage number of Christians, or people who claim Christ, but have him not, that go around blowing up people and buildings.

David Koresh and the Uni-Bomber are only two examples.) This number is significantly LOWER compared to ANY religion on the planet. The ones who act and do things like Koresh did are not Christians. People like him are also Extremists, they just do it differently. So why is it that Christians (Not talking of Jews or Israel, that will come later.) are getting persecuted these days like there's no tomorrow? Easy enough, but complicated to a systematically HIGH degree.

Christians are taught to "...Love thy neighbor as you would love yourself..." "...If a man is to strike your cheek, then turn the other..." (Paraphrased.) "...Treat others as you wish to be treated..." "...Judge Not, lest ye be judged..." And the most famous of all, the 10 "Thou Shalt Not's." Christians in the modern era would have issues picking up a weapon to kill someone, unless in defense of themselves, their family, and friends. And even then, it would be a line difficult to cross.Of course NO ONE is perfect. Including Christians. The major difference? We're forgiven. That is NOT A license to Sin however, and if you think it is, think again.

"...Thou Shalt Not Kill." "...Thou Shalt Not Steal..." and the rest. My point is this: God sent Jesus to die for us so that WE would not have to. Where is the Muslim version of Jesus? Good luck finding that one, because he doesn't exist. I am not referring to the Imam's either. Love, peace, prayer, and faith are prevalent in the lives of those who Call Jesus Lord. While Christians humbly pray on bended knee, Muslims are blowing people up. And political correctness attacks Christians, but refuses to name a scum bag wannabe-man who is afraid of his own shadow, killed 13 people while screaming “Allah is Great” or as we knows it “Allah Akbar,” recently as a Muslim Extremist.

The ACLU gets on the "Kill Christianity" band wagon as often as it can, while blocking any attempts at Offending" Muslims, and their "Faith." Now, keep in mind, while being a believer in Christ myself, I am not referring to the so-called "Moderate Muslims." Because personally, they either do not exist at all, or they're so small of an organization of whatever type that no one can hear or see them. Its Bohemian Grove in the lands surrounding Israel. The difference being the obvious satanic natures of the Grove, and the obvious satanic natures of the Muslim faith.

Christians: Its time to pray. Pray for Revival of the Church. Pray for Protection from the evil deeds of men and their father Satan. Pray that you remain in God's will, and pray that you're faith will not falter in the face of fear or death, or whichever outcome you can think of that is seriously bad news. Finally, Pray for souls to come to Jesus. Myself, I pray that god will open the eyes of the American people here, as well as people everywhere, before their countries constitute and grant or condone Sin in its various forms. When I say everywhere, I mean it. Including the Middle East. God's plan includes them as much as it does us.

Jesus loves us and them equally. Since that is the case, who are we to judge them? Unless you are actually a judge or lawmaker of some kind judge not. Instead, Pray that Jesus will open the eyes of key members in various terrorist groups and cells. So that they may not only believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, And Jacob, but so they will allow Jesus to live in their lives, and bless them as he would bless anyone who believes.

Keep in mind. ALL have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. ALL. And since death is the wages of Sin, we can either embrace the Christ, his love and peace, his warm joy, and the feeling and knowledge that you are saved, and your name is written in the Lamb's Book Of Life. Muslims, Gays, Politicians, Doctors, Police, CEO's Buddhists, and the like can ALL be saved through the blood of Jesus Christ. That blood will wash away all sin, and you will become whole. A new person would be born. That person would know the love of Jesus and the peace of God. Love, and Peace, salvation, and a way to fill the void in all of us, is what all men/women seek. Why is it so hard for Muslims, or anyone for that matter, to know that love of Jesus?

Because like the rest of the Unsaved world is in love with it's own sin and rebellion, and says to itself, "...I need no God or Saviour..." all the while knowing in their hearts they're wrong, and they know they are. People would rather do as THEY wished, regardless of consequences because that is the nature of the Fleshly Body known as MAN. Man doesn't want God in their lives. Luckily for those of us who do, God is ever patient with us. Like a Father should be. But do not be fooled or deceived. To Embrace sin, is to embrace judgment and to forsake the Father that created you. Remember, just because you have anger to a God you think may or may not exist, or you KNOW exists, but don't care anyway, is a very bad sign.

Can't you hear him calling your name so far out there? I can. What are you waiting for? Time is running out.

  • Consevative to Rewrite the Bible

    Friday, Oct 23, 2009 8:11AM / Members only

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book – Revelation 22:18

    courtesy wnd.com Farah.

Andy Schlafly, the son of the heroic Phyllis Schlafly, has begun the Conservative Bible Project, an effort to rewrite the Bible to the tastes of conservatives online, Wikipedia-style.

What does he have in mind?

    Here are some examples:

        * He doesn't like what Jesus said in Mark 10:25 about it being "easier for a camel to go through the eyes of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." His "Conservative Bible" changes "rich man" to "a man who cares only for money." I'm sure Jesus will appreciate this politically incorrect update. He was probably confused when he made that statement. Schlafly explains:

"I don't think Jesus is saying 'Let's all be lazy so we can get to heaven.' That's not the message. And, if you translate the word rich as simply rich, some people are going to get the message that 'I am going to be lazy so I can get to heaven easier.'"

Being RICH is two things according to the descriptions in the Word of God. One, a man or family with vast amounts of wealth, land, etc. And anyone who puts those things above others and above Jesus. Ever hear the saying, "You can't take it with you..?" The rich man asked Jesus what he must do for salvation. Jesus told him to give away everything he owned, and follow him. Meaning, that serving the Christ, and our heavenly father is about love, but it is also about SACRIFICE.

        * He is cutting out the ending of Mark's gospel altogether. Why? Because he says it is not found in the oldest texts. But that's not true. It is not found in manuscripts doctored by Gnostics in Alexandria – manuscripts that form the basis of the most "liberal" translations of the Bible . So, in effect, he is emulating the enemy here. The end of Mark has already been eliminated in the New International Perversion, as I like to call it.

        * He also recommends cutting the adultery story in which Jesus says:

"He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her."

Can we say that Jesus was no CSI? Or was he just soft and weak?

Uhm..really now. I think not. Jesus is big on forgiveness and love; and was anti-sin. In order to save those who would have faith Jesus supped with Tax Collectors, Prostitutes, Roman Soldiers when they approached him, and anyone who wished to be close to him. If one makes a mistake, the simple remedy is to ask for forgiveness. But that doesn't exclude punishment. Either by man OR by God.

        * He doesn't like the idea of the Bible talking about wine. He turns it into grape juice.

The Ultimate slap in the collective faces of the Bride of Christ of the worst kind. And what's worse, almost NO ONE is doing or saying anything about it.

The Bible IS the Word of God. And thus it is the covenant with all peoples of the world, Jewish and Gentile alike. Desecrate the Holy Word at your own detriment.

One cannot write the bible to suit a man, his interests, his politics, or his pocket. And the moment he or she tries, it will always end badly for them.

And as of now, I ask God plainly, My Lord, my heavenly father, judge this man, those in league, illuminate the darkness, and show that you will not be mocked, and as per the words in Revelations, send the rightful punishment to those who seek to rewrite the bible in their own image. Where were they when you stretched out your arm and the stars were born? Where were they when your breathed life into Adam? These people will be judged I know. But I ask lord, do so expediently.

People always complain to me when they find out I am a Christian that the bible is full of holes, innuendos, imagery and false prophecy to say the least. These people are not just wrong, they're deceived.

For that, they have my sympathies. However with that said, it is out now that the Bible has been rewritten in a form or two expounding Liberal points of view. While Jesus was a liberal man, he was also God made into the flesh of man. Its one thing to misquote if you're not sure on the exact phrasing. Happens to me all the time. However, what I am getting at is not accidental miswording, or forgetfulness.

I am talking about a form of blasphemy that is akin to witchcraft and other such things. I would say to this to ANY man or woman, or whomever they might be -- rewrite the bible for political idealogy will do nothing but curse the writer of said passages. The examples I can give you would fall upon the so-called Apocrypha. False stories that take away from the love and message of Jesus Christ, and our heavenly father.

So why is this happening? This is not the question we should ask. Instead, why are we, as Christians allowing this to happen? Simple math here. No one will hear us. Everyone will dismiss us as walking-talking-bible-thumping-hellfire-and-brimstone hate mongers. Really now. It occurs to me that this is only the beginning. Of what you might ask?

The beginning of the End of All Things as prescribed by John and Daniel. If the Apocrypha is real as far as books in the bible, there would be many many passages in the bible besides ONE that would reference the "teachings" found there. There are no such foundations whatsoever. Enoch is mentioned ONE time in the bible. That is all.

So, the new question would be... If you're going to rewrite the bible to suit a political agenda of any kind, what else will they rewrite? The Constitution, and the Bill of Rights of course.

While I am no fan of Glenn Beck, he has asked many a question about Obama and his lackeys. None of which the White House will answer. So let the end begin, and the beginning end. We as a people here in the USA need to focus on two things and two things only. Obeying God, and Praying. With those two under our belts the freedoms we're losing seemingly every hour of everyday will have turns for the positive for both the believer and nonbeliever alike. Meaning, without the Will of God in the fight for the Republic we all love and call home, we can do nothing against the principalities of the Devil.

Remember: God is God. God cannot be fashioned or locked into a box of prearranged thoughts. God shall not be mocked, and changing the words of the Covenants will only spell serious disaster for those responsible for leading His sheep away. However, in the meantime we must be vigilant, watchful, mindful of the Spirit, and hungry for the word of god, with our ears and eyes open to God, and the ability to hear God's voice. God IS and will continue TO fight this battle for us. But faith, belief, and trust in the Almighty is the key to seeing this through. Without these things, we shall fail, and eventually be outlawed, ostracized, hunted, and killed.

Time is running out. God welcomes the 11th hour servants. Repent. Get God in your life. Or bring him back into it. And waste no time. This battle is picking up momentum unlike anything else in the history of the world; and we've known this was coming since before the days of the Son of Man walked the Earth. Isn't it about time we pay attention to God, His will, and get the good news out? The time to pray is here. Stay vigilant, and when you stumble, God will pick you up and dust you off. But ONLY if you let him. So in the famous words of the Shepard, "...pick up your bed and walk. Go forth and sin no more..." (Paraphrasing)

  • The Final Army, No Sabbath, and The Origins of Evil

    Monday, Oct 12, 2009 10:05AM / Members only

Many will find my blogs to be combined with two or more thoughts. That is because I am playing catch up. Sorry to all for the long reads. But it IS worth the time. Regardless of whether or not you agree or disagree.

The Confederation of The Final Middle Eastern
Army and The Dangers of No Sabbath.( Or Day Of
    Rest.)

    **Courtesy Bibleprophecy.com

In the news this weekend is the historical geo-political and prophetically significant accord establishing the required protocols for full diplomatic relations between the ancient Armenian and Turkish peoples. The significance of this accord underlies the eschatological position of Eschatology Today that Armenia is without question one of the nations identified as belonging to the Gog military confederation to become existent in the 'last days" per the Spirit-inspired prophecy of Ezekiel 38-39.

Armenia (see map) is one of the nations named by Ezekiel which many eschatologists have thus far
erroneously applied in an interpretation of Ezekiel 38:6 as being modern eastern Turkey. Armenia is, in Biblical fact, a nation descended from and identified as both Gomer and Togarmah! "Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops — many people are with you."

In historical point-of-fact, the Armenian nation predates by a few thousand years the establishment of a Turkish state in Asia Minor. It is in ancient Armenia, historically centered around Lake Van, that Noah's ark came to rest on Mt. Ararat after The Flood. The Armenian's have for millennia held the belief that they are the direct descendants of Noah's son Japheth through his son Gomer through one of his descendants known by the name of Haik. Haik (pronounced "high,") is the name the Armenians use to identify their own nationality). Haik was the son of a man named Togarmah. Also in ancient times Armenia was known as Urartu (Arartu) by the peoples of this northern Middle Eastern regions, and as the Kingdom of Ararat in the Old Testament. The Kingdom of Ararat was named in Jeremiah 51:27
along with the ancient nations of Minniy (a part of Armenia) and Ashkenaz (a nation in the same
region also descended from Japheth). The Armenia of the 21st century is a country overwhelmingly populated (98.7% according to the CIA World Factbook)by "Christians" (Armenian Apostolic and other Christian denominations) and is a full member of the Russian-led military alliance known as the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) discussed in the Eschatology Today entry of one week ago. Ratification of the normalization of relations treaty, pending Armenian withdrawal of its troops from the enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh in overwhelmingly Muslim Azerbaijan; the status of roughly 600,000 Armenian and Azerbaijani refugees, as well as the issue of Ottoman Turkish responsibility for the genocide of over 1 million Armenians at the end of WWI will be the final step in this very prophetic
development prefacing the literal fulfillment of Ezekiel's war of Gog/Magog and the ultimately
full restoration of Israel to the land given it in the unconditional Abrahamic Covenant of the Lord, as described in Genesis 12:1-3 and Genesis 15:18-21.

We are truly a blessed generation to be witnessing the literal fulfillment of Bible Prophecy. We are
the generation of whom our Messiah spoke in Matthew 24. Despite all the seemingly apparent
odds against and the seemingly impossible conditions to be overcome - as our Lord said,
"these things must take place." To the Hebrews, God gave this commandment: “Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD” (Leviticus). Later, Moses prophesies to the Hebrews the consequences of disobedience and of not observing the Sabbath.

“At that time the land will pay off its Sabbaths all the days of its lying desolated, while you are
in the land of your enemies. At that time the land will keep Sabbath, as it must repay its Sabbaths. All
the days of its lying desolated it will keep Sabbath, for the reason that it did not keep Sabbath
during your Sabbaths when you were dwelling upon it” (Leviticus 26:34-35). Here, we learn that the length of the punishments upon Israel and Judah was proportioned to the number of Sabbaths that were not observed. For example, the 70 years of captivity in Babylon would therefore have been equated to a total of 490 Sabbaths having been missed or not observed. While the Sabbath is a rite of observance
specifically assigned to the Hebrews, one might wonder what will happen to an entire world that increasingly is moving away from a weekly day of rest. In a frenetic world given over to the primacy
of commerce, a weekly day of rest is fast disappearing, whether the Hebrew Sabbath, the Christian Sunday, the Muslim Friday … or any day for that matter. Now, every day is a Sunday (or Sabbath) to some one, and that day is commonly becoming the weekly shopping day. While the Christian is not bound to observe the Jewish Sabbath (though many Christians do wish to observe Saturday as their day of rest and worship) as they are not subject to Moses’ command nor prophecy to the Hebrews (see above), the first day of the week — the day that Christ rose from the dead and that the New Testament
met for fellowship and teaching — is also treated as an ordinance. Though not under the Hebrew
consequence of ignoring the Sabbath, could it still be true that there are dire consequences for societies that do not observe a weekly rest day?

God himself observed a rest day. “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy,
because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done” (Genesis 2:2-3). If then God, who is Creator, chose to rest on the seventh day, would it be surprising that the circaseptan (7-day cycle) is woven into Creation? As it turns out, the 7-day circaseptan is indeed the central cycle of Creation. Scientists who study chronobiology have discovered important confirmations on this question.

Here is an excerpt from an excellent article on this subject, written by Kenneth Westby, entitled
“The Amazing 7-Day Cycle.”1 “The deeper we investigate the inner workings of life, an even more complex, intricate and absolutely marvelous display of design begins to appear. Out of the mind numbing complexity of life a certain organizing rhythm starts to surface. The millions of living parts begin to respond to a rhythmic resonance broadcast on certain set frequencies. These parts innately know to tune their receivers to the proper sympathetically vibrating frequency — their beat. Just as we tune our radios and music suddenly springs to life, every living cell has imbedded in its primal genetic
material a rhythm, a clock, a beat, a frequency, a resonance that helps it get in sync to live and function as designed. Now we discover that the beat all life is tuned to is seven.

How did seven come to be imbedded deep into the ancient genetic building blocks of life? Why is seven the key coordinating rhythm for life's myriad complexities? God did "wind up the clockwork" leaving his fingerprints all over the clock. The new science of chrono-biology has had some of science's most impressive successes in seeing back to creation with its discovery of "primitive origins" to the seven-day cycle found in human cells and other life forms. God somehow coded into the infinite
complexities of life a clock that ticks to the time of a seven-day rhythm. We humans have no control over these innate circaseptan rhythms and benefit best by simply living in sympathetic harmony with them. More importantly, the seven-day cycle in physical nature points beyond temporal reality to a far greater spiritual reality. God, with masterful design, uses time itself and a seventh day rest to call his creation to pause and listen. He has a message which explains why we were created and for what special purpose. His words are so majestic, so exciting, so unbelievable, so beyond our mundane world that they could only be comprehended as coming from God himself. His message dispels ignorance, solves life's grand mysteries, and offers a future too beautiful to be true.

His personal message introduces himself as our creator, he gives us dignity and a special relationship to himself by declaring we have been made in his image, he then offers to save us into an eternity with him — if we but follow him. He invites us to join him on his journey, to walk with him, to talk with him, to learn from him, to even rule with him. How could we refuse such an invitation?

The mystery of the seven-day cycle was never intended to be a mystery, but a call from the Creator to get in harmony, in sync, with him. It is high time we get in step with God.” We learn here that the 7-day cycle is also part of the physical order. The Bible confirms its spiritual and religious roles. Since biological organisms function on this cycle, it is only logical that a day of rest would also fit this circaseptan pattern. Even God who is not bound by space and time, chose to rest on the 7th day. While the Jews were physically punished for their irreligious, non-observance of the 7th day Sabbath, would it be surprising to learn that a world that now runs on a 24-7, round-the- clock treadmill may suffer
physical consequences for not observing a 7-day cycle and a day of rest?

Surely life today in such an unbalanced environment is more stressful, and frenetic and works against the priorities of those who do wish to apportion one day a week for rest and worship. A world removed from its natural order will be prone to deterioration and bring upon itself ill consequences.

    The Origins of Evil

Is Evil a tangible, real thing? Or is it like the cold? Meaning; is Evil just the absence of Good, while cold is the absence of heat, and darkness is the absence of light. If you follow this line of thought than it serves to reason to all that things like the cold, darkness and even evil do not truly exist. EXCEPT we ALL know that is not the case. We can feel the cold outside or in. It is hard to see in any dark room or even outside without SOME kind of light, flailing around in the black isn't on most people's high list of priorities. So since we know that cold, darkness and evil do exist...how can we find it as tangible as say you would find a rock to be? First, there are two types of existence. One – solid. (You, me, trees, rocks, oxygen, etc.) Two – Ethereal. The Ethereal is much more difficult to explain and understand. So in an effort to do just that, remember that the term ethereal doesn't necessarily mean spiritual, or spiritual in origin. However, in the case of Evil we know that it exists, and that it was here long before the Earth was. How do we know this? The bible has various examples I could point to that can tell you flat out that evil not only exists, but it rules the hearts of man. That of course is tantamount to what one might or might not believe. So let's assume for the sake of argument that you know God, and his Son Jesus. You know of His love, His Life, and the sacrifice on the day of Cavalry.

I hear this all the time: “I understand how evil entered creation via the fall, but it seems to me that something (evil) that had never existed before suddenly came to be.” It seems that this thing we call evil which didn’t exist in God’s perfect creation had to have an origin. So what IS that origin, and how is it that it came from Satan? “Satan cannot create..” “Was that Satan?” she asked. “Did he/does he have a form of destructive de-creative power to bring something to be that wasn’t?” In essence, did Satan “create” evil? Let’s find out. In his Gospel, the Apostle John addressed the issue of whether evil is merely the absence of good. Speaking of Jesus in terms of light and darkness,
    Paul wrote;

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was
life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. (John 1:3-5)

The word translated understood here also means overcome, but either way if the darkness John
referred to was simply the absence of light, as we know it to be, then by it’s very presence the light
would have replaced it. Darkness is not an entity or force and can neither understand nor overcome. It always yields to light, returning only when light is withdrawn.

And if John was talking merely in terms of physical life and death, as some understand the passage,
the same would be true because by definition death is the absence of life. So John had to be
speaking in the spiritual sense. The light represents the Lord Jesus, the personification of good. The darkness that cannot overcome Him represents Satan, the prince of darkness and the personification of evil. So evil is not simply the absence of good. John 1:3-5 also contains the answer to another
question. Did Satan create evil? Again, speaking of Jesus John wrote, “...Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made...”

Paul confirmed this in his letter to the Colossians.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. (Colossians 1:15-16)

If you read these two passages as being all inclusive, as I do, then you have to conclude that
Satan, who is himself a created being, did not create evil. Where Did that Come From? So where did evil come from? Ezekiel and Isaiah have the answer.

The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and
say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says:” ‘You were the model of perfection, full of
wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned
you: ruby, topaz and emerald, chrysolite, onyx and jasper, sapphire, turquoise and beryl. Your settings
and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared.” (Ezekiel 28:11-13)

Through the first 10 verses of chapter 28 Ezekiel had been speaking to Ittobaal, the human ruler of
Tyre, calling him the prince of Tyre. Beginning in verse 11 the Lord had him look past the human
figurehead to the power behind the throne, Satan, who Ezekiel addressed as the King of Tyre. Some commentators see the mention of precious stones as representing the fact that Satan was clothed in light. But one fact is clear to all. Satan was created, confirming what John and Paul said. He was not created to be evil, and in fact was the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. “You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones.” (Ezek. 28:14)

Satan’s original role was to head up the squadron of Cherubim who guard the Throne of God. Among men, those chosen for the palace guard are considered to be the most loyal, highly skilled, and trustworthy, the finest examples of the King’s warriors. As the leader of such a group charged with protecting the Throne of God, Satan would have been among the most admired of all created beings.

“You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor”. (Ezek. 28:15-17a) It Didn’t Need to Turn Out that Way.

Like I said, Satan was not created to be evil. But like all of us, he had the potential for choosing evil. He was the most beautiful, wise, and powerful of all God’s created beings and became very proud
of these things. It was this pride that caused his downfall, and when he was caught out, his pride
would not let him submit, so he rebelled. Isaiah 14:13-14 tells how he set out to elevate himself
    above the angels once again, to sit enthroned in the place of God, and become like God. You said in your heart;

“I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” In his pride Satan demanded that glory due only
to God be redirected toward himself. In doing so he gave us the Biblical definitions of good and
evil. Everything that yields to God or glorifies Him is good, and everything that rebels against
God or glorifies someone or something else is evil. God Himself appears to hold this view. Look at
    Isaiah 42:8;

“I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my
glory to another or my praise to idols.”

Shortly after the Creation, Satan introduced this evil into the world by convincing Adam and Eve to break the only rule God had given them. This seemingly minor act of rebellion caused all of
mankind’s potential for evil to be greatly magnified and made rebellion man’s natural state. Paul called it our sin nature and it turned the Creation upside down. Where Satan had been made as the model of perfection with the potential for choosing evil, mankind would hereafter be predisposed toward evil with the potential for choosing to be made perfect. (In other words, Satan had to choose evil. We have to choose good.) And what’s more, Satan no longer had to personally see to every act of evil. By
orchestrating that one act of disobedience he had set mankind on a downward spiral that soon resulted in a state where every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time (Genesis 6:5).

Things Are Not Always as They Seem: It’s important to recognize that evil is not merely a type of behavior. In fact it’s more a function of intent. That makes evil a motivating force behind behavior. It’s easy for us to judge behavior that’s obviously destructive, cruel, or immoral as being evil. But behavior that outwardly seems to produce much good can still be considered evil in God’s sight unless it’s undertaken in submission to Him for the purpose of glorifying Him. The end does not justify the means with God. Motives must be pure to make actions pure. This is something most people simply do not
understand. We think something that looks good or produces a good result must be good. But the Bible is clear. It’s the motive energizing our behavior that really counts, no matter how good the result looks to us or to others. Like the Lord said,

“A bad tree cannot bear good fruit.” (Matt. 7:18) Therefore judge nothing before the appointed
time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God. (1 Cor. 4:5)

    So evil is a spiritual power, a motivating force that began with a choice. It originated when a created being demanded to be treated as if he was the Creator and went downhill from there. The consequences of that choice are suffered by each one of us every day. It took the death of God’s own Son to reverse its effect on us, and then only if we choose to allow it. For those who don’t, God will again say;

“I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.” (Genesis 6:13)

The choice is clear and the time is near. Even so, come Lord Jesus.
