  • 2nd AnD Halloween Party!

    Last Saturday was the 2nd annual Halloween party for AliveNotDead. It was a really awesome turnout(jammed to the walls again!) and the costumes were fabulous. When we started this website a couple years ago we were trying to build a community of creative like minded people and although we've done that here with this site, you really feel it when attending one of our functions. Thanks to everyone that showed up and many special thanks to the AnD crew for putting on such a great party. Rock on! Sorry for not having pics... I forgot my camera but there's plenty of awesome shots from other AnD users!

    Poker King is a new movie starring Luis Koo and Lau Ching Wan about the exciting game of Texas Hold 'Em poker. Now I've been seeing this ad in the South China Morning Post for the past several days. I'm not sure if it's the theater's fault or South China's typo but either way, it's funny.

    Have you eve noticed that no matter where you travel in the world there are Chinese? This subject has always interested me and I always try to find out about their history. This woman here with the crazy Jamaican accent is a perfect example. Her accent is so rad! She has obviously been in Jamaica for a long long time, most likely born there as the way she laughs as well as attitude are imbibed with Jamaican culture. As I recall the earliest Chinese settled in Jamaica because it was along trade routes from the east and the Chinese are a prominant part of Jamaican culture. In fact many of the most influential producers of reggae (one of my favorite types of music) back in the 70's and 80's were Chinese Jamaicans. Before I moved back to Hong Kong, I used to think Chinese women with British accents were sexy, now after living here for so long I've kind of gotten used to it but a Chinese woman with a Jamaican accent? Now that's sexy! I love everything about Jamaica and it's culture but I still haven't been. Now I gotta go soon!

    Been very very busy working like a dog but I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who sent me birthday wishes. My guestbook almost blew up with over 30 pages of birthday comments! 

    I actually haven't celebrated my birthday since I was 28 because I really don't enjoy being fussed over, it really is just any other day. This year I spent the day at work on Derek Yee's new movie Triple Tap. My parents happened to be in town so Lisa brought them down to set to watch me work. In the 12 years I've been in the business, my parents have only been to set maybe 3 times.

    Usually I don't like anyone coming to set because it disturbs my concentration but it was a relatively light day of work plus they wanted to spend my birthday with me. So all in all it was a perfect way to spend the day doing my favorite thing(acting) with my favorite director(Derek Yee) with the people closest to me (Mom, Dad and Lisa).

  • Kid Cudi- Pursuit of Happiness

    This is a great mash up of rock band MGMT and the "intelligent" rapper Kid Cudi. Hadn't heard the song before I caught this on my favorite show David Letterman the other day. Now I have the album. He's not a great singer but that's exactly what I like about this song, it's raw and full of heart, plus the music is great. If you're tired of all that "auto tune" hip hop that's out there now and looking for something fresh, check out Kid Cudi's album Man on the Moon.

    A few days ago seeing online VERTU Ayxta you attend the conference, talking to you look very cute, you sound pleasing to the ear. You say you stupid, you always give a very gentle and humble feeling. In my frame of mind you are in an excellent good actor, because you can always perfect interpretation of the role you have played. to wish happiness to you and lisa!

    Slowly the weather cools, I do hope you wear thick clothes to prevent colds. In the future, Hong Kong in December when I attended a piano competition, hoping to get the gold medal. Last year, my good friend to participate in this competition, she won the silver Award. want to come to Hong Kong to meet you, ha ha

    Recently aftertaste repeated your previous film shoot: "Drink Drank Drunk." I really like this movie, a very good Hong Kong films. It is a successful comedy. Every time I see you in Hong Kong films, will only choose to watch Cantonese version, in fact, ever since you fell in love with after seeing Naked Weapon magnetic and sexy voice, your voice and your like charming!
