  Re camera: The 450D's great, although I haven't had much time to experiment/practice with it.  I'm still trying to get used to the size and weight..... haha, compared to my old P&S camera.  When I was researching the DSLRs, it was either the 450Dor 40D.... in the end I decided on the 450D because of the price and the learning curve wouldn't be as steep (DSLR newbie here).   I didn't really do much research on the Nikon ones though.  I've been using Canons for a long time and had no problems with it, so was more comfortable getting a Canon.
  
  I read some reviews on the 50D.... sounds really good.  But I'll bet you can get some sweet deals on the 40D now that a newer model is out.  Happy camera shopping!  =)
