  • Getting Our Kicks With The Cannon 7D

Last Monday I helped my friend Ikuo and some of his buddies test out the LA Community College Cinema department's new Cannon 7D. We did this eskrima flow drill in the beginning and I was teaching an open hand exercise at the end. These were meant to test the shutter speed and the lenses. But it's the fight scene that I'm really proud of (it's at about 1:21). I can't believe how well it turned out! Especially considering we put the whole thing together in less than 5 hours. Yuta (the guy in red) had practically no martial arts experience at all but after we whipped him into shape and Ikuo edited the whole thing, he really looks like he can kick some butt!!  I really think it's a quality scene that's probably better than a lot of the over the top shlock I've seen in many big budget movies and shows (especially some of the ones made in the U.S.). I'm thinking I should go into fight choreography. We've only posted it on facebook so far so you'll need a facebook page to view it:

Yep, it's on Facebook. After clicking on the link you'll have to sign in to your Facebook page. I tried uploading it onto my Youtube account but I need another copy of the raw video for that.

Yes, just like Bruce Lee, only he was so fast, that when filming fight scenes in "Return of the Dragon," he had to film in high speed/slow motion, in order to be able to see the moves at all.  Even at that, if you watch that FLICK, the moves are still almost a blur!
