    Looking At Love

    Looking at love
Not for it, through it, lusting at it
    Looking right at it
    Fine art has nothing
    No sculptor every formed
    Nor painting ever gesturally abstracted
    These can not compare
    To look at love
    Feeling it through the eyes
Causing that hallow pit in the abyss
    The sickness that is sweet
    Looking at love
    It can harm though
In time it will be Medusa to your soul
    The avoidance is otiose
    Once you look in vain
It is bound to crush or devour
    Looking at love
    As great as love is
    As beautiful as love is
    As hungry as love is
    Looking at love
    It can leave you empty
    For some it fills them
    The beatitude comforts them
    Pacifies their woe and lowliness
    Looking at love for others;
    Pure relentless vexing dysphoria
Enthralling you so can not turn away
Not even knowing if you would
However it sees fit to be displayed
It equals the needle and the spoon
    Looking at love
    How it be so great
    Even through the pain
Is it not a true wonder
    To be entranced and desolate
    Perhaps just a game
    An odious equivocation
    Coyote laughing or Gods playing
    Looking at love
An essence seen plainly in the dark
So clear the blind can see this
The injudicious even stop in awe
It waits for you in dreams
Usually in onset of the siege
    Taunting, knowing it causes breaks
    Reliving pasts and never beens
Pushing pain like sword to spine
    Looking at love
    How it tears you apart
    Yet we all seem junkies
Yearning so much for that bliss
It leaves you blue and cold
Like a body found in a lake
During the deep chills of winter
And still we strive for it
    Like sick beaten pets
Never wanting to turn from it
Afraid its gone when looking back
But its always there to see
    If only to torment
    Looking at love
Not sure where to place it
    But feeling your heart skip
    Your breath startled from you
    The melancholy and defeat budding
    Avidity and content withering

  • "THE TWO WOLVES WITHIN"

    Saturday, Jun 30, 2007 10:12PM / Members only

Now that my Grandparents are in a better place I thought I might share this b/c it reflects alot of what they have taught me.....R.I.P.  to both of them...my love is with them always.

An old Grandfather said to his grandson, who came to him with anger at a friend who had done him an injustice, "Let me tell you a story.

I too, at times, have felt a great hate for those that have taken so much, with no sorrow for what they do.

But hate wears you down, and does not hurt your enemy. It is like taking poison and wishing your enemy would die. I have struggled with these feelings many times." He continued, "It is as if there are two wolves inside me. One is good and does no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him, and does not take offense when no offense was intended. He will only fight when it is right to do so, and in the right way.

But the other wolf, ah! He is full of anger. The littlest thing will set him into a fit of temper. He fights everyone, all the time, for no reason. He cannot think because his anger and hate are so great. It is helpless anger, for his anger will change nothing.

Sometimes, it is hard to live with these two wolves inside me, for both of them try to dominate my spirit."

The boy looked intently into his Grandfather's eyes and asked, "Which one wins, Grandfather?"

The Grandfather smiled and quietly said, "The one I feed."
