Nowhere Man
{Opening narration}
Thomas Veil: my name is Thomas Veil, or at least it was. I'm a photographer. I had it all: a wife, Alyson; friends; a career. And in one moment it was all taken away, all because of a single photograph. I have it; they want it; and they will do anything to get the negative. I'm keeping this diary as proof that these events are real. I know they are; they have to be.
Plot:
Unknown forces conspire to erase the identity of photographer Thomas Veil (Bruce Greenwood), and without warning, every aspect of his life is erased during the course of one evening. His wife acts as if he's a stranger, his credit cards are suddenly invalid, his keys no longer fit the door to his home and in one way or another, his family and friends are silenced. Completely alone, Veil sets out on a desperate cross-country quest for an answer while eluding his powerful and unknown enemy. His only clue to the possible motivation behind the harrowing ordeal is the disappearance of one of his photographs, "Hidden Agenda," which depicts the execution of natives in a war-torn Third World country.
This is a suspense series. It was on American television in from 1995/1996. Only 25 episodes were made, including the 67 minutes pilot episode. Sadly, this series was cancelled in 96. American producers like to cancel series i see. I see they do it quite a lot. Here is the intro. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wte-8uf8Pt0 I like the intro. The music is pretty good. When you watch this series you will see how fragile each of our identities really is.
This review contains some MILD SPOILERS.
I just saw the last episode last night, and it was good. And the ending could have a been better. I did not understand comepletly, but headed over to the Nowhere Man board on IMDB and got a better sense what happend. I was suprised about the ending. I think you also will be suprised if you see this series.
Thomas Veil usually go`s from city to city looking for clues who did it to him. He refers to them as "Them". haha. They know their stuff and is good at it. The episodes have a good story with lot`s of twists and turns. This is an intelligent show. You got to think a lot, specially in the last ep.The ep are suspenseful. There are a few poor ep also, but not many. Bruce Greenwood who play`s Tom is a good actor. He have some funny facial expressions sometimes.
He has a tendency to stare a people with a strange look. You want him to get revenge and get back to his normal life again. Veil is close to find out the truth on several occasions. I have read some reviews of this show and they say it similar to a show called "The Prisoner ". I have not seen it, but maybe some of you others have. Since I liked this show so much, i will buy The Prisoner later. I just wish this series was longer. Since it was not, i hope for a Nowhere Man the movie. I want to know what`s happend to Thomas later and the future.
Thomas is confronted by various people working for them. Are they trying to help him or trying to get the negatives. You will know if you see this show. Did "Them" get the negatives from Tom in the end. You will also know that if you see this show. Things are not what they appear to be. Don`t trust anyone as Veil nicely says it. I recommend this series if you like thrilling, suspenseful and conspiracy theories.
I have become interested in conspiracies now thanks to this show. I did like it before i watched this, but not so much as now.
